The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the 4th UN Finance for Development Preparatory Conference will be held in Addis Ababa next July.
 
The conference aims at finding and facilitating financial resources for the implementation of the sustainable development goals of the UN.
 
Mr. Nebiyu Tedla, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement today that necessary preparations are already underway to successfully host the preparatory meeting of the international conference.
 
The spokesman added that the Ethiopian government is working together with United Nations entities to host the preparatory meeting.
 
It was also stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Taye Atske-selassie, exchanged views on the upcoming Summit of the Future, its impact on harnessing new opportunities for the effective implementations of SDGs and other issues of mutual interest with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, H.E. Amina Mohamed, in Addis Ababa.
 
In his statement, the Spokesperson also highlighted Ethiopia’s participation in the Consultation Forum of the Sherpas and Sous-Sherpas of the BRICS member countries, in Moscow.
