The Embassy, in collaboration with World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME), organized International Ambassador Meet 2024 at the Embassy premises. The event served as a platform for ambassadors, diplomats, business experts and entrepreneurs to converge and deliberate on the theme “Unlocking Opportunities: The WASME International Ambassador Meet 2024 — Africa: The Gateway for Asia, America, Europe, and the Middle East”.
 
In a keynote speech, H.E. Ambassador Demeke Atnafu addressed a comprehensive overview of the diverse investment opportunities in Ethiopia, by focusing on the priority sectors such as agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, mining, ICT and tourism as well as emerging sectors (health, education, logistics, transport, real estate and energy). He also extended a warm invitation to the audience to consider investing in Ethiopia and assured potential investors that the Embassy would facilitate all necessary steps, emphasizing the Government of Ethiopia’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for Foreign Direct Investments.
 
Dr. Sanjiv Layek, Executive Secretary of WASME expressed WASME’s readiness to work in collaboration with Embassies of African countries to further bolster the existing economic ties between Africa and India.
 
The event featured insightful panel discussions, exhibitions, and networking sessions aimed at fostering dialogue and economic cooperation among nations. 100+ companies and some African Embassies were in attendance.
